About Mike

I am a SPHR-certified Human Resources leader with over ten years of experience driving talent acquisition strategy, advising my colleagues from the line all the way up to the C-Suite, developing training programs, and dealing with complex employee relations issues. I'm extremely passionate about compensation management, leadership, performance management, diversity hiring, and teaming.

I am also extremely passionate about technology, and have been fortunate to spend my entire career working with and within the engineering industry. My enthusiasm for the innovations taking place in the software industry is a constant passenger (not even taking the backseat!) to my enthusiasm for people operations.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport, with a major in anthropology. In school, I found myself most engaged with ethnography and systems theory. I've carried these interests with me into my professional life, and they inform the work I do every day. Understanding how to make observations in the workplace, and how to contextualize employee behavior within concentric complex systems (department, workplace, organization, industry) is key to being an effective business partner.

I currently work for as the leader of a Human Resources technology function. I lead a team of talented folks who do technical analysis and administer the organization’s HR Information System, Learning Management System, and a set of other miscellaneous, people-related applications.

Outside of work, I'm a bit of a politics & policy junkie. I'm a current events and pop culture obsessive - if I'm not working, I'm probably reading the news or listening to a podcast. I also enjoy playing video games, and occasionally I even stream on Twitch. This year, I’m focusing very heavily on improving my aptitude with high-skill Super Mario World rom hacks. I'm a lover of music — feel free to follow me on Spotify. I'm also always on the lookout for great new books to read (fiction and non-fiction).

I reside in Rochester, New York with my wife, our corgi, and our lab mix. I'm always excited to connect with people who share my interests -- both personal and professional -- so click the contact button if you're interested in reaching out.
